Role Overview Switch Media School is seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer in Media Law & Ethics to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will guide students through key legal frameworks, ethical principles, and responsible practices in digital and traditional media. This role emphasizes hands-on application of media law in real-world production environments with a focus on ethical decision-making in the digital era.
Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver engaging lectures on media law, regulations, and ethical frameworks in communication.
Facilitate discussions on real-life media case studies and current issues.
Guide students in understanding intellectual property rights, copyright, and media policies.
Develop assignments and assessments aligned with competency-based learning.
Mentor students on ethical dilemmas in journalism, digital content creation, and broadcasting.
Stay updated with emerging issues in AI, digital platforms, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
Master’s degree (minimum) in Media Law, Communication, Journalism, Public Policy, or related field.
Demonstrated teaching/training experience in law, media, or communication studies.
Strong knowledge of Kenya’s media legal frameworks and global ethical standards.
Ability to integrate case-based and practical learning approaches.
Expertise in AI-driven media regulation, digital compliance, and online governance.
Hands-on industry experience in journalism, broadcasting, or digital media.
Strong background in entrepreneurship and media business ethics.
