Switch Media Limited (fully owned by the Kenya Red Cross Society) is a dynamic digital media and production company specializing in audiovisual production, digital media solutions, creative design, and media training through the Switch Media School. As we expand and strengthen our commercial capacity, we are seeking a passionate and highly driven Business Development Executive to help us grow our client base, generate revenue, and position Switch Media as a leading media producer and training institution in the region.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
OVERALL PURPOSE
Reporting to the Head of Switch, the Business Development Executive will drive revenue generation across Switch Media’s three business streams:
1. Production Services: documentaries, corporate videos, photography, livestreaming, commercials, feature stories, and branded content.
2. Digital Services: digital campaigns, social media content development, creative design, and web/app content support.
3. Training Services: corporate training, youth-focused media training programs, institution-based workshops, and Switch Media School courses.
The ideal candidate will build strategic relationships, secure new business, and support the company’s long-term growth and sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Business Development & Revenue Generation
· Identify, pitch, and close new business opportunities across production, digital, and training offerings.
· Scout for tenders, RFQs, commercial partnerships, and content development opportunities.
· Maintain a solid pipeline of prospects and actively follow up on leads.
2. Client Relationship Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their communication and media needs.
· Serve as the primary liaison for client engagement, brief development, and contract negotiations.
· Represent Switch Media at industry events, forums, and networking engagements.
3. Strategic Sales & Market Expansion
· Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with Switch Media’s growth objectives.
· Explore new markets, sectors, and revenue streams for production, digital, and training services.
· Support the brand’s positioning as a competitive media and digital solutions provider in Kenya and the region.
4. Proposal & Pitch Development
· Prepare compelling proposals, quotations, pitches, and capability presentations.
· Collaborate with internal production, creative, digital, and training teams to craft tailored solutions for clients.
· Track proposal performance and continuously refine business acquisition approaches.
5. Market Research & Competitive Insight
· Monitor trends in media, production, digital marketing, and creative communication.
· Analyze competitor offerings and identify unique selling opportunities for Switch Media.
6. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
· Deliver against monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
· Maintain updated sales records, forecasts, client engagement reports, and CRM logs.
· Contribute to ongoing review and refinement of business development strategies.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development, sales, or marketing—preferably in media production, digital marketing, advertising, communication agencies, or related fields.
· Strong track record in closing deals for media, digital, or creative services.
· Excellent proposal writing and presentation skills.
· A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
· Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and networking skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within set timelines.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM or sales management tools.
· Highly self-driven, organized, and team-oriented.
